CarShare Expands to New North End

CarShare Vermont has added a 9th car to its Burlington network to serve the New North End. It is located at the Ethan Allen Shopping Center across from Ace Hardware. CarShare Vermont is an innovative program that provides a new option to Burlington residents who don't have a car, want to cut down on the number of cars in their household or eliminate them all together.

Bringing a CarShare program to Burlington was a recommendation made by the Burlington Livable Community Project as an cost-effective way to improve mobility for older residents and reduce demand for parking.

Launched in 2008, the program gives residents an option to share a car using it only as needed. This cuts down on the costs of owning and maintaining a personal vehicle. By joining the program you can reserve a car anytime to run errands, drive to work or meetings, go on outings, or visit out of town friends. Two membership packages are available depending on how much you think you'll use the car. Gas and insurance are free and there is no monthly minimum driving requirement.
